Forced Opioid Policies Cause Pain Too
By Christina Johnson
Colorado Senior Lobby Member & Board Member
"Forty-three years ago, a truck ran a red light and totaled my car. Nothing was broken but I was never the same. I had to stop working. Most of the damage was in my back and neck. That was followed by another car accident, and then domestic violence. I’ve ended up with degenerative disc disease, protruding disc, stenosis, and I’m working on becoming bionic since I’ve had most of my joints fully replaced ..." - READ MORE
Protect your Identity
Tell everyone you know Mary’s Story
By Connie Ward
Colorado Senior Lobby Member & Board Member
"Mary helped her husband Steve get comfortable in his recliner after returning from a week-long hospitalization for heart surgery. She was exhausted by the stress of the week and the realization that she would have to be his caretaker until he fully recovered. Before retiring to bed for a nap with her favorite book, Mary decided to take care of a little business first. The blinking message indicator on the machine encouraged her to take care of that business first ..." - READ MORE
Funding Support for Aging Services
Colorado Senior Lobby is working with the Colorado Association of Area Agencies on Aging (c4a) to produce and distribute informative flyers that review the work Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) do to serve older adults in Colorado. These flyers will be distributed to Colorado Legislators every other week with the assistance of Representative Jonathan Singer (D) – District 11, Boulder County and Senator Nancy Todd, (D) – District 28, Arapahoe County - READ MORE

Are you unsure who your legislators are?
The Colorado Senior Lobby website has a link on our home page to the “Find My Legislator” web page on the Colorado General Assembly website. Each of us should know who is representing us both in the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate. Write this information down and keep it handy – better yet memorize it. Now when you are reading or watching news, listen for your legislators’ names and follow what they are talking about. Sign up for your legislators’ newsletter and town halls. With this approach, when an issue comes up you will be ready to contact your legislators.
