Captains and Supports at REDS RACE

CAP united to participate in 32nd Annual Reds Race

In bright green CAP t-shirts, about 50 CAP employees, friends and family members took to the streets of downtown Dover together to participate in the historic Reds Race, a 5 mile road race and 2.4 mile walk, an event to benefit our community. CAP is one of seven nonprofit organizations who plan and execute Reds Race, a community fundraiser with all proceeds divided among the nonprofits. Many thanks to Roger's Pizza, Proulx Oil & Propane, Bank of New Hampshire, Liberty Mutual, Centrix Bank and Federal Savings Bank for their sponsorship for CAP and support of the race.

New Community Assessment completed

New addition to CAP leadership team

We are proud to welcome Kenn Ortmann to the CAP team as the new Director of Housing and Community Development. Kenn is retiring from the city of Rochester where he has been the Director of Planning for over 26 years. He brings a wealth of experience to CAP and shares our vision for a strong, vibrant organization. He will officially begin in June.

CAP is now on YouTube

We are so proud of the video that Heartwood Media created about our agency that we wanted to share it with everyone. After winning last year's Heartwood Media's Nonprofit Challenge, we created our own YouTube channel and posted the video for all to see. Check it out by clicking:  Heartwood Media CAP Video. (It's on our website, too).

Head Start Fit Fair makes the news

Foster's Daily Democrat covered our Fourth Annual Fit Fair for Head Start families: CAP & Head Start Fit Fair

Summer Feeding Expanding
We were so successful last year with the Summer Food Service Program that we are expanding our program this summer. In 2012, we had two sites that served 3,250 meals to 120 children. This year, we will be operating 10 sites in Dover, Rochester in Somersworth. The program starts in late June and runs through August. The summer feeding program offers free breakfast and lunch for children ages 0 to 18 years of age. Check our website in the coming weeks for the summer feeding program locations. Donations are always needed and can be made to: P.O. Box 160, Dover, NH 03821 or at www.straffordcap.org/donate
