A Note from the  CEO
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Rick Doucet, CEO

According to the Centers for Disease Control, approximately 18% of all Colorado adults engage in heavy or binge drinking monthly - 1 out of every 5.  Currently, alcohol is the "main factor" in 2% of all deaths for Colorado adults between the ages of 20 and 64.   The damage caused by substance use disorder is significant in terms of lost wages, overall health and impacts on relationships and families.

In response to a growing need for broader and more intensive services in Adams County, Community Reach Center has recently expanded its substance abuse programming.  On March 30th, we will launch full operations for outpatient social detox services at Community Reach Center's Center for Detox Treatment - formerly known as Arapahoe House, located at 7373 Birch Street in Commerce City.  This is where individuals in Adams County deemed to be in need of detoxification services for alcohol or drug consumption will be cared for.  Community Reach Center aims to provide a 24/7 monitored, safe and supportive social detox environment for the Adams County community.

Interventions and after care supports will be tailored around health and wellness education, recovery, coaching and referrals to appropriate treatment based on individual need.  The facility will be staffed 24/7/365 by multi-disciplinary staff who specialize in substance use services and assist individuals in what is often the first step in their recovery process.

Once discharged from detox, many will be referred to our Intensive Outpatient Program where they will benefit from 48 weeks of individual and group therapy, case management and a wide variety of other services that will support them in their recovery.

There continues to be a great deal of shame and stigma associated with addiction.  Please know that whenever someone decides that today is the day to get help, Community Reach Center is ready to provide them with evidence-based therapies and all the restorative services necessary to support a happier, healthier life-style free of addiction.  Click here for more information.

Sincerely,

Rick Doucet
Chief Executive Officer

New Residential Facility

Next month Community Reach Center will open its new residential facility called Stages, located on our 10-acre Northglenn campus. Stages is specifically designed as a residential stabilization facility for men and women 18 years of age and older.

The single-story 15,000-square-foot building features clear sight lines between staff and consumers, lots of natural light, and hallways and rooms specifically designed for sub-acute treatment.  The setting is designed to help consumers avoid costly hospitalization.

This type of sub-acute facility offers the highest quality care for consumers needing a period of bed-based services in a less restrictive setting than a hospital.  To the health care provider community, Stages also provides an excellent step-down option for patients who are discharged from psychiatric hospitalization and would benefit from a short period of residential services in a community setting.

"We are very proud to have this new facility in our continuum of care, and we encourage clinicians and providers to make referrals accordingly," said Amanda Jones, clinical director of Recovery and Transition Services. "It is a pleasure to open this new facility that shows Community Reach Center's commitment to provide the very best services to enhance the health of our community."

Linda Hamaker, CAO

CEO Rick Doucet said, "We like to keep our administration lean, but due to growth we needed more help. Linda has exceptional project management skills and the right perspectives to advance our mission. We are proud to have her on board."

She  comes to Community Reach most recently from VitalVantage360 in Houston, TX and brings experience in process improvement, change management and communications, among other valuable talents.

"I look forward to meeting everyone behind our successful programs and learning about the strategic initiatives that continue to make CRC an employee and consumer destination!", said Hamaker.
