COMMUNITY RESOURCE SERVICES

NOVEMBER 2024

Welcome Morgan!

Please join us in welcoming Morgan Muszynec to the CRS team as our new Client Services and Personal Development Coordinator. In this vital role, Morgan will bring her energy, expertise, and dedication to ensuring the success of our clients.

Morgan is a graduate of Avon Lake High School and Kent State University and has recently moved back to the area. She is excited for the opportunity to use her excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as she works closely with our clients to assist and support them in their life goals.

Welcome Morgan!

We are pleased to announce the Charity Ball, A Night of Heart and Hope, which will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The Charity Ball is our largest fundraiser of the year. It provides a wonderful opportunity to honor our dedicated supporters, donors, volunteers, and sponsors who partner with CRS to support our mission of reducing poverty in Avon and Avon Lake. The evening features hors d’oeuvres, a sit-down dinner, music, dancing, raffles, and an exciting auction, all to benefit CRS.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at different levels. We are also accepting donations for the auctions. If you would like more information about either of these, please contact Sheila at sroth@aalcrs.org.

The fantastic Charity Ball committee is raffling off this gorgeous, Louis Vuitton Odeon MM bag, valued at $2,230, to raise funds for the 2025 Charity Ball being held on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Raffle tickets are $50 each and we’re only selling 100 tickets! The winning raffle ticket will be selected as soon as all tickets are sold and will be broadcast on Facebook live. Once again, the SOUPer Bowl Food Drive was a huge success! The generous support that the CRS food pantry received from the Avon and Avon Lake communities was overwhelming and will go a long way in supporting our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity. Both communities together collected over 3,000 pounds of food and over $33,000 in monetary donations! Congratulations to Avon Lake for winning the SOUPer Bowl Trophy this year! And although they won the trophy, this is a competition that has no losers because we all win when we come together to support our neighbors when they need us most.

Since its inception in 2010, the SOUPer Bowl Food Drive has collected over 87,000 pounds of food and $over 202,000 in monetary donations.

Thank you to everyone that donated food or money and to those who volunteered for the SOUPer Bowl as well! We couldn’t do it without you, and we are so very grateful!

Is Your Business or Organization Looking for a Way to Support CRS?

Would your business or organization like to support CRS? Hosting a drive for the CRS food pantry is a great way to help!

We are always in need of staples like peanut butter, jelly, hearty soups, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce and canned chicken/tuna. Or you can get creative and collect specific items based on a theme such as snack foods, breakfast foods, toiletries or cleaning supplies. Another great idea is to have a spice drive. It is such a treat to offer our clients spices that they normally wouldn't be able to purchase for themselves.

If you would like more information about hosting a drive, please email our Pantry Manager, Cece Carlson or call her at 440-933-5639.
