In a heartwarming story of resilience and gratitude, we highlight one woman's journey from needing assistance from CRS, to spearheading a charitable initiative and capturing the spirit of the holiday season.

Her connection with CRS began many years ago during a challenging period in her life, where she faced financial hardships and relied on the assistance provided by CRS to meet basic needs. Empowered by her own past experiences, she inspired her co-workers to join her in making a difference in the community. Motivated by the belief that every child deserves a magical holiday season, she has taken the lead in organizing a toy drive for Santa's Workshop, a CRS program that ensures all children receive a winter coat, toys and pajamas this season.

Through their collective efforts, they are embodying the true spirit of the holiday season — the spirit of giving, empathy, and the belief that small actions can have a profound impact on the lives of others.

The family-owned Meijer company is continuing their commitment to hunger relief efforts through the Holiday Simply Give Campaign! CRS is so grateful to partner with the Avon Meijer store for this campaign that runs through Saturday, December 30, 2023. During the campaign, Meijer will invite their customers to purchase $10 Simply Give donation cards that can be found at each register. Through these donations, CRS will receive Meijer gift cards that we will use to purchase items to help keep our pantry well stocked. Thank you in advance for your support of this incredible initiative to help fight hunger in our own community!
