UMass Chan employees have the option of volunteering their time through the UMass Chan Cares volunteer paid time off (Volunteer PTO) initiative. Employees may use up to 16 hours of scheduled work time per year to support their favorite causes and institutions as volunteers. Those interested in volunteering may 1) volunteer individually, 2) seek assistance from the Office of Community and Government Relations (OCGR) to arrange a departmental volunteer effort, or 3) participate in one of the school-wide monthly volunteer activities organized by OCGR. Community Cleanup partnered with City of Worcester’s Quality of Life Team
When: Thursday, June 20, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. (rain date June 27) - tasks include trash cleanup and light landscaping.
Where: to be determined one week before the event based on the area most in need of a timely cleanup. An email will be sent to all volunteers with the location before the event.
Volunteer PTO Eligibility: This event takes place during work hours and volunteer PTO is available.

Veteran’s Inc- Stand Down Event
When: Friday, June 21, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. - volunteers will assist in organizing and distributing clothing and personal care items to veterans and their families and direct them to various service agencies present at the event.
