December 2014

Merry Christmas
From Conch Charters

All the lights and decorations are up in the office, the wreath is on the door and staff full of Christmas cheer!

Christmas is a time to relax
and plan your future tracks

It is a time to be merry
and plan your trip to the BVI on the ferry

Turkey and ham
to ponder a plan

A time to spread joy
and buy a great big floaty toy

A time to stay out of trouble
and remember that chartering elsewhere is un-conch-ionable

But most of all... Christmas is a time to enjoy
with all our best wishes from the gang at Conch Charters

Did you know?

The 'Willy T's' bar is named after William Thornton who was the designer of the US Capitol building. He was Quaker born on Tortola in 1761.
Talking about the 1700's... in 1756, the daily ration of 'Grog' on British Navy ships was increased to one pint per man! Cheers... Lets go sailing!

Conch's Activity of the Month

The British Virgin Islands boast some of the most beautiful reefs in the Caribbean with an abundance of fishies and coral. The BVI National Parks make it the perfect holiday to try out Scuba Diving.

There are several dive companies in the BVI that will be able to offer you equipment rental with delivery, rendezvous diving or Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experience for those that are not certified.

The BVI is also home to the Wreck of the Rhone which is an old steammailer ship that went down off the coast of Salt Island in 1867 during a hurricane. This beautiful coral encrusted wreckage is both a great dive and snorkel!

"Santa's pick me up"

2 oz Conch Superior Rum

(a bottle free with every charter)

Splash of Baileys Irish cream

Splash of Coconut cream

Splash of Pineapple juice

Splash of Strawberry syrup

Mix together over crushed ice and sip away while dreaming of warm tradewinds of the BVI.

REDUCED Festive Season Special!

Lagoon 440 (2006) - $315,000.00

Lagoon's designers surpassed themselves with the design of the 440 model.

Interior Features

The L shaped galley is professional enough for even the most discerning chef. Excellent stowage, an acre of counter top plus a microwave, blender and two 12v fridges makes catering easy.

The saloon is a great living space. Lots of windows provide plenty of light to the saloon area which can seat the whole crew comfortably. Large opening windows and portholes provide optimal ventilation.

All four double cabins have queen size bunks and are spacious with ensuite heads.

The generator can provide air conditioning throughout the boat or open the hatches to enjoy the tropical breeze.

Exterior Features

The helm on the flybridge provides perfect 360 degree visibility with all the controls within easy reach. There is plenty of room up there for crew members so the Captain does not have to be apart from the fun!

A rigid bimini protects the roomy aft cockpit from the hot sun.  There's fantastic access to the swim platform.

Lounge on the trampoline or use the forward seating area on the bow for sundowners.

The Lagoon 440 has a fully battened main sail with lazy jacks to guide it into the stack pack and also a roller furling genoa.

Bring along an auxiliary lead to hook up your iPod to the CD player.

An electric windlass makes anchoring a breeze.
