Dear Illinois Swedes and Illinois Swedish Americans,
Gott Nytt r!
Chicago has long been an active, influential hub for Sweden in the United States. We at the Consulate General are pleased to provide Consular services, liaison and support between Sweden, Washington DC and Illinois.
As 2011 drew to a close, a few changes were taking place at Chicago's Consulate.
In June, many of you joined us for a reception hosted by Ambassador Jonas Hafstrm to announce Kerstin Lane's retirement from the Consulate and thank her for 18 years of Service to Sweden; 10 years as Honorary Consul, and 8 as Honorary Consul General for Illinois.
During the past eight years, Annette Seaberg has been pleased to serve a two-term tenure as Honorary Consul for Illinois, and will also be stepping down, as Sweden's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will no longer be retaining the role of Honorary Consul in the U.S.
We are very grateful for their dedicated and talented leadership that we have enjoyed here in Chicago for all these years.
On behalf of the Embassy of Sweden, it is a great honor to announce our new Honorary Consul General for Sweden, Ulf Anvin.
Mr. Anvin is originally from Ludvika, Sweden, and has been in the U.S. since 1988.
He is the Director of Sales and Marketing, EnGine Cooling Americas at Aurubis Chicago. Market Segment Manager at Luvata. Ulf is a graduate of Uppsala University.
A former President of SACC Chicago, and former Chairman of SACC USA.

We wish Ulf welcome to Sweden's Consulate General!
With our best wishes for a
