News from Neat Repeats Resale
Neat Repeats Resale shops in Orland Park & Worth are owned and operated by the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. The shops provide more than one-third of the organization's operating revenue, allowing CCSS to provide programs and services for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
Congratulations Neat Repeats Volunteers
Neat Repeats volunteers were chosen by the Crisis Center's Presidents Emeriti to receive the 2014 Volunteer Spirit Award. Established in 2011, the Volunteer Spirit Award is to recognize individuals who demonstrate willingness to assist CCSS without expectation for personal gain; the true definition of being a volunteer. Congratulations to the dedicated team of volunteers at our Orland Park and Worth Neat Repeats Resale shops.

The Heart to Heart Dinner Dance is only a few weeks away - have you purchased your event and raffle tickets?
If you have, thank you for supporting CCSS and helping us provide essential services for our clients. If you haven't, it's not too late - but hurry, we're selling out fast! This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year, but more importantly, it's designed for you to have a fun evening out, while doing good for families victimized by domestic violence.
The Dinner Dance is Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. Enjoy a night of live entertainment, dinner, open bar, dancing, and bidding on incredible items in our live and silent auctions. Some of the items up for bid in the live auction include Southwest Airlines tickets, as well as a Chicago Blackhawks logo painting by Elliott From.
And, have you heard about the raffle? Seven winning tickets will be drawn the night of the event and prizes range from $500 to $5,000! Only 500 tickets are being sold, making the odds of winning very favorable. Tickets are just $50 and can be divided among several purchasers. Click here now for a raffle ticket order form and for your event tickets.
Contact Chris Beele by email or call 708.429.7255, ext. 118 for additional information, sponsorships, or ad book advertising. To date, Diamond Sponsors are Advocate Christ Medical Center and Sheet Metal Werks. |

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
Because of your generosity, we met our Greer Foundation Challenge Grant goal of raising $44,000 by December 31, 2013. The Greer Foundation invests in organizations throughout Chicago, ensuring that children and teens receive education and treatment to live healthy, violence-free lives. Recognizing the importance of the services offered at CCSS, Greer challenged us to raise money for two of our programs - Children's Therapy and Fresh Start Teen Dating Violence Prevention. If we raised the $44,000, they promised to match it.
Your donations were matched! And now plans are underway for enhancements to our children's therapy and Fresh Start programs. We will be able to counsel more children who have experienced domestic violence and visit more schools, community and youth groups to educate young people on the dynamics of dating violence and healthy relationships. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of children and teens! |

How Your Support Has Helped
The holiday season was a little brighter for CCSS clients, thanks to you! Our donors and volunteers were able to help nearly 300 individuals experience the warmth and spirit of the season by providing food, gifts, and fun. Over 1,300 gifts were wrapped for the women and children in shelter and for the families receiving services in our counseling, transitional housing, and advocacy programs. Here is how your generosity impacted a few of the clients we serve:
"Thank you for helping my family have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you for helping me have a Christmas this year."
"Thank you so much for making this Christmas the best Christmas my family has had in four years. You are so sweet and generous."
"I want to take time to say thank you for what you guys have done for me and my four children for Christmas. I was able to watch my kids open their gifts with a smile on their faces."
And, one of our favorites...
