Stuff the Bus!
We are collecting toys for GRACE. The toys will benefit children that will not otherwise receive presents during the holidays. Please help Dawson Middle School and the Dawson Student Council collect new unwrapped toys so we can fill a big yellow Carroll ISD school bus. All toys must be received by Friday, November 17th at 8:30am. We will be delivering them to GRACE during Helping Hands that day. Please do not forget the older children ages 12-18. The advisory class that collects the most toys will receive a pizza party.

UIL Academics Info
UIL (University Interscholastic League) provides students an opportunity to participate in extracurricular academic, athletic, and music contests. This year the district's UIL academic competition will take place at Dawson Middle School on March 24, 2018. Students were invited to attend an informational UIL meeting in the library on Friday, October 20th. Students are allowed to sign up for 4 events using the online form. Coaches for each event will determine the 3 students from both 7th and 8th grade that will compete. An alternate for each grade will be determined in the event one of the three students is not able to compete on the day of the event. Practice times and locations are determined by each coach and will be held either before school, after school or during advisory. Students participating in NJHS have been offered service hours for participating in UIL. Students can scan the attached QR code or visit the URL to sign up for events that they are interested in. Students should sign up as soon as possible as coaches will begin meeting with students and determining teams.
Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation Scholarship Program
The Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation was established in an effort to encourage children to stay in school and pursue their educational and career dreams. The foundation recognizes outstanding 8th grade students each year by awarding the promise of $2,500 college scholarship to selected students, to be redeemed once the student has graduated high school and enrolled in college. The application is due to Mrs. Tatum, the 8th grade counselor, on November 15th no later than 4:00 pm.
