The new owner of the oldest house in Bedford wanted the style to reflect the vintage era of the house, while bringing it into the 21st century. The original home was built circa 1840, with some 20^th century additions. The plank flooring is original, a unique architectural detail to feature in the final look. Seating for eight was requested in the design, as well as storage for heirloom china and tableware.

As the dining room was nearly square, a round dining table made from reclaimed lumber was selected, reflecting the owner's interest in eco-friendly design. Distressed ivory Queen Anne chairs with red paisley linen upholstery were mixed with Parson's chairs upholstered in blue floral linen. The linen fabric is sustainable, again demonstrating the homeowner's values. A tall, distressed hunt board is the focal point when entering the room, along with pear and apple prints which highlight the hunt board and blend with the fabric colors. A cherry china cabinet displays vintage china and crystal. A respect for tradition, an eye for detail, and an understanding of today's important issues are all on display in this historic dining room.
