Dear Ian,

Early voting starts in just 9 days, and the election is only 19 days away! Here are your updates.

This week's endorsements

We are thankful for these endorsements: NYS Assemblywoman Anna Kelles and Diane Lechner, President of the NYS Federation of Democratic Women.

"Deirdre Hay has exceptional courtroom experience, and is a recognized leader of our state's legal profession who has worked with senior judges to improve our judicial system. Hay is also an Adjunct Professor at Cornell Law School and has a track record of community service. Her commitment to fairness and justice for all and to keeping politics out of the courtroom make her a uniquely qualified candidate for the NYS Supreme Court. I am proud to endorse her for Supreme Court Justice." - Assemblymember Dr. Anna Kelles.

“Deirdre is relatable because she is authentic, and she is authentic because she is a lawyer first and foremost, not a politician. She is exactly the kind of New York State Supreme Court Justice we need to elect at this moment in history.” - Diane Lechner

Deirdre in the news

We hare delighted that our candidate received the highest possible rating of "Qualified" from the Broome County Bar Association. You can read about it here. Judicial Candidate Review

Notes from the trail

A highlight of the week was a get out the vote program by the League of Women's Voters in Tompkins County. The speakers were outstanding and moving. Willie Owens spent 17 years in prison for a non-violent crime and has turned his life around to help educate those in prison, teach them about their voting rights and help them start a new life.

Also in Tompkins County, Deirdre attended the Women's Fund breakfast and sat with the Women's Opportunity Center leaders (Deirdre serves on their board) and heard heartfelt presentations by Assemblymember Anna Kelles and Senator Lea Webb and celebrated awardee Susie Ferris Hatch. Deirdre also attended the Cayuga Medical Center gala, a planting trees event, the Sophie Fund program against bullying, and the Latin Festival.

In Broome County, Deirdre walked with survivors and supporters of breast cancer at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and toured the Mammo on the Move. In Cortland County, Deirdre met friends at the Fiber Festival supporting the Cortland Repertory Theater as well as the Homer Harvest Ramble. In Chemung County, Deirdre enjoyed the Elmira Farmers Market, and in Chenango County she attended a wonderful gathering at Bohemian Moon, Norwich.
