Benjamin Hunter Garland Sentenced to Prison for Slew of Crimes
On April 8, 2020, Benjamin Hunter Garland pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fraudulent use of a credit card and second-degree theft. Additionally, his probation was revoked on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, attempted coercion, fourth-degree assault and obliteration or change of a firearm identification number.

Joel Beltran-Casillas Convicted on Multiple Counts in Child Sex Abuse Case
On February 13, 2020, a Washington County jury convicted Joel Beltran-Casillas of first-degree rape, second-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse.

Veterans Treatment Court Holds Graduation Ceremony
She served her country honorably in both the Army and Air Force. She even suffered a traumatic brain injury during her time in the service as a military police officer.

Like many before her, Rochel Blanco had some difficulty transitioning back to civilian life.

The Veterans Treatment Court provided a pathway to address her legal issues and improve her life.


In the Community
April 19-25 marked National Crime Victims' Rights Week. This video details how our office works with our partners in law enforcement to protect victims, prosecute offenders and keep our community safe.
April is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month. We have teamed up with our partners at the Washington County Sheriff's Office, CARES Northwest and others to develop a special digital campaign to raise awareness of the problem.
