While it might feel like most of the world has moved on, hundreds of thousands of children and teens continue to grieve a death from COVID. Dougy Center's free resources can help.
Dougy Center's After a Death from COVID-19 online toolkit is designed specifically for children, teens, parents and caregivers, who are grieving a death from COVID, as well as helping professionals who support them. The toolkit features more than 40 resources, including activity books, journals, tip sheets, activities, podcast episodes, and more, in both English and Spanish. All resources are provided at no charge at dougy.org/covid, and made possible by a grant from the Brave of Heart Fund.
Children and families navigating grief after a death from COVID, or any death during the pandemic, often face unique challenges. These may include not being able to be with their loved one in person before they died, not being able to celebrate the person's life in a traditional way, and feelings of guilt and shame sometimes associated with a death from COVID.
To date, Dougy Center's resources for after a death from COVID have been accessed more than 5,000 times and will continue to be available for years to come. Find the complete collection of resources here.
