News from Dougy Center, November 2021
Join us in acknowledging National Children's Grief Awareness Month this November
Talking about memories is one way to honor the people in our lives who have died, and can also be a helpful way to acknowledge and share our own grief. This month, we are featuring special memories of Dougy Center kids through our social media channels. Watch for them and share your own memories with us.

On National Children's Grief Awareness Day, November 18, we will host our final Grief Education Webinar of the year, Grief as a Mental Disorder: The Movement to Pathologize Grief, presented by Donna L. Schuurman, EdD, FT, Dougy Center's Senior Director of Advocacy & Training Executive Director Emeritus. You can find out more about this important webinar and register here.

We are also excited to announce that a new book written by Dougy Center's Executive Director, Brennan Wood, launched this week. A Kids Book About Grief, created in collaboration with A Kids Company About, features Brennan's personal experience with grief after the death of her mom when she was 12. "Grief is a normal and natural reaction to loss and it is my hope that A Kids Book about Grief will give children and families the words to talk about their grief together.” Preorder your copy today!
