Join Dougy Center to Focus on Hope

Show your support for children, teens, and families who are grieving by joining Dougy Center for two important events this fall through the Focus on Hope campaign.

First, we invite you to take the Focus on Hope Challenge, now until November 1, 2023. Through this online event, Dougy Center supporters have the opportunity to host fundraisers that both educate and inspire their communities to support the important work of Dougy Center. Dougy Center will provide step-by-step instructions and everything you need to get started. Participants can create fundraising challenges, host friends at a community event, and more. All Focus on Hope Challenge participants who raise $750 or more will receive a table for eight people at the Focus on Hope luncheon.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, you’re invited to Focus on Hope: Conversations with Youth on Grief. This in-person luncheon will feature a panel of Dougy Center teens sharing their experiences in finding hope and healing. The luncheon is at

The Redd, 831 SE Salmon in Portland, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $75 each.

Find out more and register at dougy.org/hope or contact Rebecca Sturges at 503-542-4827 or rebeccas@dougy.org.

Thank you for your support of children and families who are grieving, and special thank you to the Focus on Hope sponsors, KinderCare Learning Companies, FOX 12 Oregon, Pacific Power, and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon.

Tickets for the 27th Annual Porsche Boxster Raffle go on sale soon!

Who will win the brand new Porsche Boxster on May 10, 2024? It could be you! Watch Dougy Center's website and social media for details.

Celebrating Día de Los Muertos

Día de Los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead,” is a two-day holiday to remember family members and friends who have died. Día de Los Muertos has origins throughout Mexico and parts of Latin America, and is celebrated on November 1 and 2.

Join Dougy Center in celebrating Día de los Muertos, with activities to remember and honor loved ones. Dougy Center will have ofrendas at both our Southeast and Canby locations, and participant families are invited to share photos. We encourage you and your family to honor the lives of the people in your life who have died with their favorite food, drinks, and activities.

On November 1 and 2, we invite you to post photos of your loved one in celebration of Día de Los Muertos to your social media. Use #dougycenterofrenda and tag Dougy Center @thedougycenter.

L.Y.G.H.T. program added to the California Clearinghouse for Child Welfare

We are delighted to announce that the L.Y.G.H.T. program has officially been added to the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare. Listening and Led by Youth in Foster Care: Grief, Hope, and Transitions (L.Y.G.H.T.) is listed under “Mental Health Prevention and/or Early Intervention (Child & Adolescence).” The listing can be found here. We are very proud of the impact the L.Y.G.H.T. program is having on the well-being of teens and young adults in, and transitioning out of, foster care. We express our gratitude to all of our partners and their continued support!
