ECA Holiday Luncheon Highlights
 
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its Second Annual Holiday Luncheon at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel in Chicago on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Executive Committee Member Recognition
 
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) would like to thank Mr. Gregory Kuzmic, Interstate Electronics Company for his years of service on the ECA Executive Committee.  Greg has stepped down from the Committee.  He received a special Gavel Plaque that was presented during the December 5, 2018 ECA Executive Committee meeting.  We, again, thank Greg for his service on the ECA Executive Committee from 2013 through 2018. Thanks, Greg!

Chicago Department of Buildings 
E-Plan / Chicago Electric Code updates

E-Plan
The Department of Buildings has released its E-Plan training schedule for 2019.  Last month the Department updated its online permit review system, ProjectDox, to the latest software available, Version 9.1. The updated version improves usability and performance based on customer feedback.   Details on using E-Plan, including the newest features, will be covered at the upcoming training sessions. The in-person E-Plan training sessions are held twice a month on Wednesdays at City Hall in Room 906. Those interested can sign up for dates in 2019 at the E-Plan Review Orientation Class Registration page.   The class is free and you are not required to bring any materials. If you have questions please email:  eplan@cityofchicago.org .

The Chicago Electrical Code (Title 14E of the Municipal Code) incorporates provisions of the 2017 National Electrical Code, which is published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). These NEC provisions are incorporated by reference and not reprinted in the ordinance.

CISCO Scholarship Application Deadline

C I S C O is accepting applications for its 2019 Scholarship 
P r o g r a m . The three different categories enable a wider range of students of both union building trade members and union contractor employees to apply. CISCO offers (3), four-year scholarships to high school seniors; (2), two-year awards for seniors planning on attending a community college; and (2), two-year continuing education awards to union members or contractor employees. All applications and accompanying documents must be postmarked by February 22, 2019.
