ECA Leadership Webinar Series
May 21, 2020 (First of Three sessions)
The ECA Research and Education Committee is pleased to present a Leadership Webinar Series. The first of three programs was presented by Alex Willis, Leadership Surge is on May 21, 2020 called, "Resilience."
Participants completed a "Challenge of Change" Assessment prior to the session.
The participants gained in-depth knowledge about:
- The different approaches to dealing with stress
- The difference between pressure and stress
- Rumination as the cause of stress
- How to use and debrief the 8 scale psychometric program
- The 4 steps for decreasing rumination and increasing stress
- How to facilitate for groups going through times of change and pressure

The ECA Research and Education Committee is pleased to present a webinar called, "Mental Health Awareness for Leaders." The speaker will be Kathy Horton, of Employee Resource Systems, Inc.
Mental Health Month may be coming to a close, but the need to address mental health within the context of the workplace is far from over. Please join us for a presentation by Kathy Horton from ERS EAP about some of the signs, symptoms and implications of some of the most common mental health conditions that the US Workforce faces, as well as some practical tools and tips for leaders. This webinar is scheduled for 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) is pleased to present a special event in lieu of the ECA Annual Spring Conference. The event is the "ECA Golf Outing." This is an opportunity for Chapter members to not only participate in a complimentary golf outing NOW RE-SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 4, 2020 at Kemper Lakes Golf Club, 24000 N. NECA 2020 Convention Coming to Chicago
As a reminder, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Convention & Trade Show will be held in Chicago at McCormick Place on October 3 - 6, 2020! Convention registration will begin on June 4, 2020. The Chicago & Cook County Chapter, NECA is to have a "Welcome to Chicago Party" on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the United Club space at Soldier Field. The "Rebuilding Chicago Together" charity will be promoted throughout the Convention with opportunities for involvement from NECA Chapters throughout the nation. An Apprenticeship Challenge is being formulated with the assistance of INTECH and Powering Chicago. More details regarding the Special programming / Convention activities will be announced through the coming months. We hope that you are able to participate with the Convention's many seminars, educational programming, guest presenter sessions, the Opening Event at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, among many other areas. It is anticipated that Registration will begin on July 1, 2020.

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Executive Committee has extended a number of educational stipends for many special programs / conferences throughout 2020. All stipends / reimbursements are made after each conference with registration confirmation(s) forwarded to ECA.

NECA Safety Professionals Conference (NEW DATES!)
The ECA Executive Committee approved the educational stipends of the Registration fees for up to two representatives and their guest and/or spouse, if applicable, of participating ECA member firms for the NECA Safety Professionals Conference - October 5 - 7, 2020 in Chicago.

NECA's Safety Recognition Program Update
NECA's Recognition of Safety Achievement program is an elite safety recognition focused on recognizing thriving companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety and health programs. Member companies that consistently have OSHA recordable injury and fatality rates at levels lower than the industry standard, and implement internal company safety practices above and beyond basic compliance will receive the recognition.
The Zero-Injury recognizes those member-companies that have worked a full calendar year without recordable incidents.
The Safety Excellence is the association's premier recognition program, and acknowledges member-contractors safety performance. Winners are selected are based on their comparison to BLS data and electrical contractors.
The Chicago & Cook County Chapter congratulates the awardees and acknowledges all contractors who actively promote safety on a daily basis!
