ECA Membership Meeting
May 11, 2022

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its May Regular Membership Meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Mastro's Steakhouse in Chicago, IL. The evening program featured industry updates, and a guest presentation from from Nick Espinosa, Chief Fanatic, Security Fanatics.
 
We thank Mr. Espinosa for his time at the meeting and the lively discussion concerning Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).

SUMMER VIBES AND VIEWS AWAIT AT CHICAGO’S LARGEST ROOFTOP

Please join us for the ECA Summer Event! The program will be held at the Streeterville Social (Loews Hotel Rooftop) in Chicago. Serving neighborhood eats and crafty cocktails, Streeterville Social provides an excellent rooftop terrace to spend a summer afternoon in the City! All ECA Members are welcome to attend this complimentary event. Event information and registration will be distributed this June.
"Project Scheduling" Seminar -- May 12, 2022

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee was pleased to have presented a seminar called, "Project Scheduling." The seminar had 26 registered and was conducted by Dr. Awad Hanna, University of Wisconsin - Madison. The program was held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. at Maggiano's Banquets in Oak Brook, IL.

We thank Dr. Hanna for his time and expertise with the program!

NECA-BICSI Summit
May 23 - 25, 2022

The First NECA - BICS Summit was held May 23 - 25, 2022 at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, San Antonio, TX. Five ECA members were able to attend. Program topics included: “The Future is Now: Technology That Will Drive Smart Buildings, Infrastructure, and Cities,” “Best Practices for the Design and Construction of Power over Ethernet Intelligent Buildings,” “Evolving Opportunities in the Electrical Industry: How to Start Doing Integrations,” among many other areas. We hope that you will be able to participate at the next Summit!

ECA 4th Annual Young Professionals Leadership Conference- August 18 - 19, 2022
Plans underway for Young Professionals Leadership Conference in Lake Delavan

The Young Professionals committee have chosen Lake Delavan for the Leadership Conference location this year to provide members with a great learning experience in a retreat style setting. More information will be made available later this Spring. Please contact Carrie Spaeth with questions or to be added to the Young Professionals of ECA Chicago email list. All employees working for ECA Member firms are welcome to participate.

NECA Safety Professionals Conference (May 16 - 18, 2022)

NECA's Safety Professionals Conference was held May 16 - 18, 2022 at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ. Six ECA members attended. The attendees experienced three days of exceptional keynote speakers, from industry experts and safety leaders. The NSPC also featured breakout sessions, ranging from Outside and Inside electrical construction to Risk Management, Risk Regulations and Mental Health. We hope that you will be able to participate at the next Conference!

NECA SAFETY ACHIEVEMENT & ZERO INJURY AWARDS
NECA's Safety Recognition program include two categories, Safety Excellence, and the Zero-Injury Achievement. NECA’s Recognition of Safety Achievement program is an elite safety recognition focused on recognizing thriving companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety and health programs. Member companies that consistently have OSHA recordable injury and fatality rates at levels lower than the industry standard, and implement internal company safety practices above and beyond basic compliance will receive the recognition.

The Safety Excellence is the associations premier recognition program, and acknowledges member-contractors safety performance. When registering contractors will automatically be entered into two Safety Recognition Programs; Zero Injury and Safety Excellence. Winners are selected based on their comparison to BLS data and electrical contractors.

The Zero-Injury recognizes those member-companies that have worked a full calendar year without recordable incidents.
