The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its April Regular Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Truluck's Restaurant in Rosemont, IL. The luncheon program featured industry updates, and a guest presentation from Chicago Department of Aviation Deputy Commissioner, Design and Construction, Frank Grimaldi.
 
We thank Deputy Commissioner Grimaldi and Projects Administrator Matt Gleam for their time at the meeting!

"Supply Chain Management" Seminar -- April 12, 2022

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee was pleased to have presented a seminar called, "Supply Chain Management." The seminar had over 20 registered and was conducted by Stephane McShane, Maxim Consulting Group. The program was held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. at the Drake Oak Brook Hotel.

Following this course, participants will be able to:
  • Understand the economics of materials and their impact on productivity and profitability
  • Understand supply chain terminology and key concepts
  • Evaluate options to improving your own supply chain
  • Understand the impact of material requirements planning system

ELECTRI Innovation Summit --
April 4 - 9, 2022

The ELECTRI International Innovation Summit was held April 4 - 9, 2022 in Paris, France. The Chicago & Cook County Chapter, NECA was represented by Mike Meyer, Continental Electrical Construction Company, Stefan Lopata, Kelso-Burnett Co. and Patrick Thornton, Gurtz Electric Company. ELECTRI held a joint meeting with EuropeOn and exchanged ideas on new technologies, supply chain, prefab, labor shortages, and sustainability. After the meetings the ELECTRI group toured the innovation center at Schneider Electric’s HQ (Le Hive).

ECA Young Professionals Events:
Windy City Curling - April 5, 2022
The Young Professionals of ECA Chicago hosted their most recent event at Windy City Curling Club in Villa Park on April 5, 2022. The session was well attended. The session focused on gathering topic ideas for the YP 4th Annual Leadership Conference being held on August 18 – 19, 2022.

CISCO Annual Luncheon (4/29/22)
CISCO’s Annual Luncheon was held on Friday, April 29th at Noon at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Schaumburg. The event featured Keynote Speaker Javier Ramirez, Deputy Director of Field Operation for the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service (FMCS), as well as the recognition ceremony of CISCO’s 2022 Scholarship Award winners. Also, ECA member, James McGlynn, Sr., McWilliams Electric Company, Inc. received a Special Recognition Award for "Past Presidents and Service Milestones!" Congratulations, Jim and to all the awardees!

NECA Midwestern Region Spring Conference - June 12 - 15, 2022
 
The NECA Midwestern Region Conference is just around the corner! We hope that you are able to attend this event. The Midwestern Region, NECA has reserved a block of rooms for arrival between Friday, June 10, 2020 to departure on Thursday, June 16, 2022 on a first-come first-serve basis.  If you would like to attend the conference, on-line registration has begun. Please click on the link or visit www.necanet.org to register for this event. Also, please send a copy of your on-line transaction to the Association office.  This will allow us to have a record of your registration information should you need any assistance after registering, as well as aid us in reimbursement(s) and preparing for the Chapter event. NECA Safety Professionals Conference

NECA's Safety Professionals Conference is being held May 16 - 18, 2022 at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ. Attendees will experience three days of exceptional keynote speakers, from industry experts and safety leaders. The NSPC will also feature breakout sessions, ranging from Outside and Inside electrical construction to Risk Management, Risk Regulations and Mental Health.
