Greetings from the Chair
What can we say about 2023? Amazing and outstanding are the words that come to mind. So many new initiatives have come to fruition this year. The newly created Florida Semiconductor Institute promises to open a new era of collaboration and leadership in the critical semiconductor research & manufacturing sector. Having just hired four new faculty members, we are determined to hire eight more in the coming year. 2024 will see ECE Florida pushing hard into the realm of quantum computing as we begin the Florida Quantum Initiative. All the while, our amazing faculty continue their cutting-edge research and collaborations. Some highlights are below.

On behalf of everyone at ECE Florida, happy holidays to you and your loved ones.
ECE Florida has completed the move of its headquarters to the recently completed Malachowsky Hall for Data Science and Information Technology. Named for ECE alumnus Chris Malachowsky (BSEE ’80), co-founder of NVIDIA, the 263,000-square-foot facility is a “collaborative and collision space” housing departments from three colleges.
