Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Campus Connection
|
This week's spotlight is on Kendra Niven, first-grade teacher at Elkins Elementary.
Niven has been working at EMS ISD for five years and was named the 2015-2016 Campus Teacher of the Year.
"Kendra's energy and enthusiasm for her students is contagious, and her positivity and passion shine through in all she does," said Kori Werth, principal at Elkins Elementary. "She carries the torch each and every day by loving each student as if they're her own and truly creating that culture of excellence. She is a team player, a lifelong learner, an outstanding educator, and wonderful colleague. No matter the time of year or the stresses that may be taking place, Kendra always has a smile on her face and a hug ready for any student who may need it."

Now Open!
Annual Employee Engagement Survey
The EMS ISD Employee Engagement Survey for 2016-17 launched Monday, November 28. Employees should have received an email with a public link to access the survey. You also may click here to take this year's survey.
Each year we ask employees for feedback about your satisfaction with, and engagement in, your work here in EMS ISD. Based on feedback from previous surveys, we made a few changes in the way the survey is being administered. First, we moved up the timeline so results can come back sooner and anything that needs to be addressed can begin this school year. Second, the survey now is accessed through a public link instead of a unique link emailed to employees. And finally, w
e are continuing to use a third-party service to facilitate the survey and provide all reporting on the results. While our employee surveys have always been confidential, our hope is that these updates will increase confidence in the confidentiality and anonymity of the survey, and foster more participation from all employee groups.
The survey will remain open through Monday, December 12. Thank you for sharing your thoughts to help make EMS ISD an even better place to live, learn, and work!

Mark your calendars!
The annual EMS ISD Holiday Open House is right around the corner! We hope you will make plans to join us on December 14 for this EMS ISD tradition.
