Edgecombe Community College has transformed a classroom space in the Charles S. McIntyre Building on the Tarboro campus into a room for Esports. It is equipped with 42-inch televisions, Sony Interactive Entertainment PlayStation 5 video game consoles, a Nintendo Switch, Xbox, window tinting, noise reduction barriers, as well as gaming center computers, tables and chairs. It is all in preparation for ECC’s Esports program set to begin in the fall.

A graduation ceremony was held June 20th on Edgecombe Community College’s Rocky Mount campus to celebrate the accomplishments of rising high school seniors who completed the annual Health Careers Academy.

Thirteen students participated in hands-on healthcare activities, simulations, mock interviews and a resume building workshop.

Nearly 90 students participated in Start @ ECC (Student Transition, Advising and Registration Time). ECC’s new student orientation was held in the Barnhill-Jenkins Center for Innovation on the Tarboro campus. The orientation took place Wednesday, July 16 starting at 5pm. Students met with an academic counselor, registered for classes, learned more about how to succeed, and received tips on how to pay for college.  Start @ ECC is a required event for new students.
