Edgecombe Community College celebrated the largest graduating class in the history of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program during the pinning ceremony held May 7. The department pinned 44 students just two days prior to the college’s official commencement ceremony on May 9. These graduates have met the education requirements to take the NCLEX-RN, the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

On April 25, four students were a part of a special luncheon in celebration of Edgecombe Community College’s Medical Assisting Class of 2025. Now ECC graduates, all four are employed after receiving a 100 percent pass rate on their national exam on the first attempt.

The pinning ceremony for Edgecombe Community College’s Respiratory Therapy Class of 2025 was held on May 6. All 13 graduates have met the education requirements to take the National Board Exam to become a registered respiratory therapist and obtain a state license to practice as a respiratory care practitioner. As of June 2, eight students have tested and passed their national exam, becoming licensed respiratory care practitioners. 

Eleven students were pinned during Edgecombe Community College’s Radiography Pinning Ceremony held May 8. As of June 8, 11 graduates have tested, and 10 have passed their national certification exam, becoming a registered radiographer and earning the title R.T.(R)(ARRT). This title signifies registered technologist in radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

The Division of Health Sciences at Edgecombe Community College held its inaugural Advisory Board Meeting recently on the Rocky Mount campus. The college hosted 61 participants from health sciences and health occupations programs at ECU Health, ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital, UNC Health Nash Hospital, Edgecombe County Department of Social Services, Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc., Carolina Regional Orthopedics, P.A., Robersonville Physicians Family Medicine in downtown Tarboro and others.
