"Whether our clinicians are offering physical therapy, helping you recover from an injury, or advising on a new exercise routine, it's always our priority to keep you healthy, safe, and happy," said Dr. Smita Rouillard, Associate Executive Director at The Permanente Medical Group. "Regular exercise helps you prevent injuries and improve your health."
If your exercise routine has been disrupted, this may be a good time to try something new:
- Aim for 30 minutes of physical activity per day at least 5 days a week.
- Use what you have - you don’t need fancy equipment. Brisk walking or taking the stairs is great exercise.

If you’re exercising outdoors, practice social distancing and wear a mask.
Competitive athletes can work on sports-specific conditioning exercises to stay fit and avoid injury. Our experts developed a Return to Sports Playbook just for you.
Staying active can help you through these tough times. And it will help keep you in shape until we can all get back to the activities we love.
