Virtual chapter meeting: Year-end tax planning opportunities
Tuesday, November 17, from 7:30-10 a.m.
|
|
|
After this year's COVID-19 legislation, the tax landscape looks a lot different than people estimated at the beginning of the year.
November’s virtual chapter meeting will take stock of these changes and review the COVID-19 CARES Act provisions, SECURE Act retirement changes, updates to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and more. Presented by professor and advisor Mark Sellner, you'll walk away with a better understanding of this legislation and how to guide clients through 2020 year-end tax planning moves and 2021 tax-efficient strategies.

In a year filled with lots of change and general uncertainty, financial planning services are more essential than ever! Last month’s virtual Financial Planning Days meant that more than 100 attendees from across the state were able to receive free, expert financial advice.
To all the financial planners who volunteered their time and expertise: Thank you! Your involvement is what made this event possible.

You're invited to this year's Virtual Strategic Planning Day
Friday, December 4, from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
|
It's almost time to turn the page on 2020. We invite you to join us (virtually) as we plan our next year together as a chapter!
Strategic Planning Day is a chance for members to define the initiatives that will keep FPA MN vibrant, educational and impactful.
This year, we're switching things up a bit. The first half of the day will be focused on professional development. Led by Dan Neitz of COR, this session will help you personally and professionally as you expand your network among fellow FPA MN members.
In the afternoon, we'll dive into discussions about our chapter's values and what initiatives we want to prioritize in 2021.
We invite everyone – whether you are a board member or you just joined our chapter – to participate in this free virtual event. The first 100 registrants will receive a $20 Uber Eats voucher to get meal delivery during the event.

Here's a look at this year's event from incoming 2021 FPA MN President Ryan Antkowiak

|
Here's a challenge: How do you plan a large-scale conference during a pandemic?
Well, it isn't easy. But this year's ASCEND Conference Committee, led by Jeffrey Drayton, made it happen! Thanks to Jeffrey's leadership, our 2020 ASCEND Conference transitioned to a virtual event while maintaining the same high quality speakers, presentations and educational opportunities the conference is known for.
Thank you, Jeffrey and the entire ASCEND Committee, for all your creativity and hard work!
