Curious about the ASCEND Conference? Watch this two-minute video from FPA MN President Ryan Antkowiak.
Our chapter’s signature event, the ASCEND Conference (formerly known as the FPA of Minnesota Symposium), returns this month!
Our conference is known across the country for providing incredible value and meaningful content. We encourage you to join us!
This year’s event will be hybrid. This makes it accessible for you and others across Minnesota to join for timely presentations, networking and to earn Continuing Education Credits. It also means we can invite even more high-profile speakers (view the exciting agenda here.)
After a productive day of virtual programming, there's nothing better than connecting with fellow attendees in person. All ASCEND Conference participants are invited to networking socials on Oct. 25 and 26. Learn more here.
Happening this week: Financial Planning Days
Oct. 4-8 (virtual) and Oct. 9 (in person) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
New this year: Our annual Minnesota Financial Planning Days is here at last, offering both virtual and in-person events to educate community members about financial planning – whether people need guidance as they buy their first home, plan for retirement or pay down debt.
A special thank you goes out to the chapter organizers who have volunteered their time and expertise to provide these free consultations.
Help us spread the word about the event! Consider sharing our event page on social media or sending it to family and friends.
ASCEND Conference speaker spotlight: Dr. David Kelly
Dr. Kelly is the Chief Global Strategist and Head of the Global Market Insights Strategy Team for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. His research focuses on investment implications of an evolving economic environment.
Dr. Kelly will join our conference and contribute to our attendee-favorite Great Economic Debate panel. Other panelists will include Brian Levitt, Dr. James Paulsen and Liz Ann Sonders.
The panelists will discuss:
The U.S., world and state economy
The extremely volatile domestic stock market
Fears of inflation and the effects of rising interest rates on the economy

Member shoutout: Jerry Brennan
This month we'd like to celebrate a FPA MN member who has been a part of our community for more than a decade: Jerry Brennan.
Jerry is a director of Private Wealth Management at Baird. He first joined our chapter in 2009, and has since volunteered on the Professional Issues Committee. He now serves on the Program Committee, which plans educational and networking opportunities for our members.
"I have enjoyed the professionalism of fellow members; their interest in learning, improving and personal growth. I enjoy being a part of the Program Committee because the reputation of this remarkable FPA chapter is based on the quality of the programs offered to members and on the quality of the annual symposium (ASCEND)."
Thank you, Jerry, for your involvement in our chapter!
Everything our chapter does – from chapter meetings to the ASCEND Conference to public events like Financial Planning Days – are made possible thanks to exceptional partners.
Interested in supporting our chapter and promoting your organization? Partnership opportunities for 2022 just opened up.
Now is a great time to join: Our chapter will resume all in-person chapter meetings and networking socials starting in January 2022, as well as our in-person ASCEND Conference in 2022.
