Recap: Financial Planning Day
|
This weekend we hosted the 10th annual Twin Cities Financial Planning Day. Hundreds of people attended the event, receiving free financial advice from FPA MN volunteers and attending informative workshops. The owners of the
Urban Growler, Deb Loch and Jill Pavlak, provided an inspirational opening keynote, sharing their story of entrepreneurship and the financial lessons they learned.
We are proud to have hosted this impactful community event for 10 years. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to make it possible. Here’s to 10 more years!

Our commitment to pro bono services
|
Recently the Financial Planning Association partnered with other leading financial organizations to affirm the importance of pro bono services to our profession and outline steps to advance this work.
We encourage you to read the joint statement here.
Our chapter is similarly committed to this work and offers pro bono opportunities for members throughout the year. In fact, we recently partnered with the nonprofit
Angel Foundation, which provides financial assistance for adults living with cancer. In the coming year we will be organizing volunteer oppor
tunities for CFP® professionals to work with families dealing with a cancer diagnosis. We will communicate more details on this opportunity and others in the new year!

“We believe that nourishing and growing a pro bono tradition for the financial planning profession is an important part of elevating and enriching the profession while at the same time helping extend critical services to at-risk Americans in need of quality, objective financial guidance.” - Joint statement in Investment News
