ASCEND Conference speaker spotlight: Amy Florian

Keynote Speaker Wednesday, Nov. 8

FPA MN's November ASCEND Conference is filled with incredible sessions from insightful speakers, such as keynote presenter Amy Florian.

Florian is the CEO of Corgenius and an expert in life transition. She's an acclaimed speaker and award winner, publishing multi-award-winning books and over 250 articles.

Life has been disrupted in ways we never imagined, and in times of crisis, stress, and uncertainty, you need more than financial smarts! Florian joins our conference to discuss understanding clients' emotional experiences, communication skills and strategies to help them cope.

Her presentation explains:

  • The six triggers of grief that are in play in our current situation
  • What to say to someone facing emotional times of transition, stress, loss or grief
  • How to manage your stress with scientifically backed self-care techniques

Member shoutout: Kristy Gusick

In October, we're celebrating Kristy Gusick, who's been an active FPA MN member for over a decade. Kristy's been on the public relations committee since 2010, is a speaker and past board member, and regularly attends meetings.

"I joined FPA to meet like-minded people, stay updated on industry trends, and have an opportunity to give back to the community. I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of the financial planning process. It is so powerful to have guidance from a professional who truly understands personal and financial objectives and then works to create and execute a plan that helps to reach goals."

Founder and CEO of Align Marketing Group, Kristy shines as a prominent figure in helping financial advisory and accounting firms with targeted marketing plans. Align Marketing Group specializes in supporting companies in a similar way to that of financial planners assisting their clients.

"We begin by clearly understanding objectives and then collaboratively develop and implement a marketing strategy to achieve those objectives. When you know where you’re at - and where you’re going - you’re empowered to get there."

Kristy's journey within the organization is a testament to her passion for the financial industry. We thank you for enhancing FPA MN's communications and outreach efforts and your dedication to driving positive change.
