102nd Stated Meeting |
|
Celebrating our Presbyterian History, Heritage and Identity
At the 102nd Stated Meeting of Foothills Presbytery on February 21st, we will be gathering to celebrate our reformation faith. Five hundred years ago, as the story goes, Martin Luther nailed his "95 Theses" to the Whittenburg Church door and the Protestant Reformation was born! On February 21, the
Rev. Dr. Charles E. Raynal,III and the Rev. Frank Colcough will be present to lead us in a program focusing on the history of the Presbyterian Church in the 20th Century.
Rev. Dr. Richard Ray, Chair of the Presbyterian Heritage Center, will be with us to lead a program about the Reformation 500 conference that will be held in Montreat this May. The Rev. Tom Hay, GA Director of Assembly Operations, will speak to us about the work on the General Assembly.
As we begin our shared lives in the new model "Being & Doing Presbytery", let us gather together in a spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Gordon W. G. Raynal

If you received the link to the CAQ in an email from Susan Barnett, PhD, Research Services, PCUSA, it is unique to your email address. The CAQ was sent to all clerks for whom an email address was on file from the previous CAQ.

RETREAT: "A Pastor's Theology of Risk"
|
|
This January retreat will challenge pastors and other church leaders to expand their capacity for taking the boldest risks, maximizing creativity and recognizing the difference between a call and a gamble. Participants will explore their personal fears and barriers to taking risks as a first step to envisioning a theology of risk. This retreat is about releasing the greatest potential for the most creative and spiritually balanced leadership. All ministry leadership involves some degree of risk, but it's one thing to admire those who take heroic, holy risks and it's quite another to be the one called to take the risks.
Monday, January 30, and Tuesday, January 31, 2017
St. Francis Springs Prayer Center
477 Grogan Road
Stoneville, NC 27048
**Limited to the first 18 people. Cost is $350,
which includes registration, lodging, meals and snacks.
NOTE: If a member of the Western North Carolina Conference - UMC, pricing is $175* thanks to a leadership grant sponsored by the Western North Carolina Conference.
