Footsteps Newsletter - December 2015

Another three months have sped by and we are approaching winter.  I know some of you have already had some snow but it has been unseasonably warm here in Toronto which I am not complaining about!

Some interesting courses coming up in 2016, some from Footsteps and others as well.  You will be able to upgrade your 300 hour diploma course to the 500 hour requirement starting in 2016; the hours will be offered in Toronto in March/April, Atlantic Canada in the summer and Barbados in November.  Yes I did say Barbados!  I am working with a school there and hope to be able to offer some of the new courses in a gorgeous location on the beautiful island.  The modalities will be Acupressure, Nutrition, Reiki and Business Studies.

Please contact me directly by phone or email if you are interested in taking any of these courses and we will keep you on the contact list for further information.

Also check out below a very interesting and innovative course on Reflexology Lymph Drainage which is being taught by a competent Reflexology therapist from the UK in April in Toronto.

Don't forget - RENEWAL TIME - time to renew our public liability insurance and also membership with NSARP, both of them very important in maintaining our presence in the Reflexology world.

I hope during this festive time we will all give some thought as well as donations to the Syrian refugees who are arriving in Canada.  However much help they are being given by sponsors and all levels of government, it will be a very difficult time for them adjusting to a strange and new country.  I was so heartened to hear from one of my clients in her seventies that she is taking in a family of four into her basement this week.  She is the most wonderful selfless person and I have offered to help her in any way I can.

Please forward this email onto anyone you think might be interested and continue to keep us informed of any Reflexology stories where you live.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday time with your families and be thankful for good health as we look forward to 2016.

With best wishes, Janet

Interesting Case Study
Cathy Cull just started learning Reflexology in July of this year in Newfoundland and while doing one of her case studies, sent me this email.
I have to tell you about 1 client I had, I felt something along the teeth/neck area, when I asked he responded he had no issues with either, 2 days later he called and called me a witch, he had ended up with a toothache and an abscess and had to go to the dentist!! I told him he was harboring something there and that I drew it out!
As I say - 'Always go with your instinct, it will never let you down'
Reflexology Lymph Drainage RLD

Reflexology Lymph Drainage RLD is a pioneering, multi-award winning reflexology technique which may be used to help reduce lymphoedema after treatment for breast cancer. RLD is also useful for clients with other (non-cancer related) common conditions eg, Fibromyalgia CFS/ME rheumatoid arthritis etc.
An evidence course, that teaches specific reflexology techniques for lymphatic drainage via the feet. The aim is to stimulate the function of the lymphatic system and drain excess lymph from the damage area, using problem specific RLD sequence.

Sally teaches all over the world and will be offering her two day course in Toronto, April 23/24.  For more information go to
