Classroom Coordinator
Program Off to a Great Start
|
|
Thank you to everyone who has become involved in our Classroom Coordinator program!
This new program strives to help build and support our community through classroom events, activities, and other connections.
If you did not receive a brief survey from your Classroom Coordinator but would like to be involved in your child's classroom community, please email frcc.program@gmail.com.
Many classrooms have already organized get-togethers! Some recent events have included socially distant meet-ups at playgrounds, neighborhood parks, and virtual meetings!
Remember, when meeting in public spaces, please encourage your kids to wear masks!

Let's Work Together to
Create Anti-Racist Schools
|
|
The Franklin-Randall PTO's Community Engagement Committee is working with Urban Triage and Brandi Grayson to develop a series of workshops. In these trainings, we’ll examine how chronic racial trauma is created and the impact it has on our culture and society. Participants will gain skills to support anti-racist education. The schedule will be determined based on the availability of those who register.
Brandi Grayson is the Founder and CEO of Urban Triage and CEO of Grayson Consulting, LLC. She’s a Community Activist, orator, writer, and talk show host on Talk 92.7 FM.
The commitment would be three two-hour trainings. Cost is still TBD, but the estimated range is between $200 and $250. At this point, we are trying to gauge interest, which will help determine cost. If you would be interested in participating, please email: communityengagementfrpto@gmail.com to let us know. Thank you!

There's Still Time to Give to the
2020 PTO Fall Fundraiser
|
|
Thank you to the families and individuals who have already donated to the PTO Fall Fundraiser! We still have more than a week to go, and would love your help to reach our goal by October 31!
YOU CAN GIVE BY:
-
Donating securely online through our PayPal account*
- Mailing a check (made out to: Franklin-Randall PTO) to school.
- Asking your employer to match your donation to double your impact.
No gift is too small and every dollar makes a difference! Gifts are tax-deductible, and your donation supports community building efforts like the Parent Empowerment Groups, teacher recognition efforts, instructional materials for the classrooms, the Social Justice Fund to assist families with basic needs in times of crisis, and more.
Together, we can make an impact and support our school community!
*Donations made to the PTO's PayPal account during the 2020 Fall Fundraiser will go to the Franklin-Randall PTO. For families interested in donating to the West High Area Food Collaborative during this time, donations can be made directly through the Collaborative's website.

PTO - Additional Resources Needed
|
|
Are you interested in helping support the work of the PTO on a temporary basis? If you have experience with managing websites or providing tax advice then the PTO could use your help!
The PTO is looking for someone who has experience with non-profit tax and accounting and could assist the PTO Treasurer with filing forms 990 and 1099. The expected time commitment is 8-10 hours at most.
Additionally, the PTO could use additional help with managing the PTO website. This would be more on an as-needed basis and would likely be around 2-4 hours per month in the next couple of months.
