DNR's Aerial Suppression Spray for Gypsy Moths
Potentially Tuesday, May 22
Please Note:   The spray itself isn’t typically a problem for people with asthma. However, a low flying plane can cause anxiety in some people. The DNR plans to spray in the area of Regent to Kendall, and N Allen to Spooner,on Tues, May 22. However, the date could change based on caterpillar development and weather.  They will try to start spraying at dawn, weather permitting.

Wisconsin Cooperative Gypsy Moth Information Line 1-800-642-6684

WHEN : Spraying is expected during the week of May 21-25, 2018. At present, the treatments are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday May 22.  However, treatments could occur on other dates, depending on weather and caterpillar development.

WHERE : Seven sites in Dane County, in the cities of Madison and Sun Prairie. Maps of spray sites can be viewed online .

WHY : The spraying is necessary to suppress populations of gypsy moth, a destructive and invasive pest that feeds on the leaves of oaks, maples, crabapple, birch and many other species of trees and shrubs.

Gym Shoes Reminder
Gym shoe
Chris in the Franklin gym would like to remind parents and students that gym shoes are essential for Physical Education class. Right now, he is starting to see various forms of sandals, flip-flops and keens in Physical Education. We are in a bowling unit - using heavy bowling balls. A ball dropped on a foot with sandals on will really hurt!
In this warm weather... please remember to put gym shoes in the kids' backpack!
