This year with the help of our fall fundraiser the Franklin-Randall PTO Grant committee awarded 10 grants (5 at Franklin and 5 at Randall) for a total of $6,530. Over the next few weeks we will highlight the grants and how they are impacting your child's classroom. As always, thank you for all of your support during our Fall Fundraiser and throughout the year!
Grant Spotlight:
Art Room Boost – Teacher Marissa Prater, Franklin Elementary
This grant helped make the art room space more usable for students with Ikea shelving to help store artwork and giving more work space. Ed Emberly drawing books and clay accessories were also purchased to help with the art class curriculum.
Thank you!

Hey F/R families,
May I take a moment to promote Tri 4 Schools:
Tri 4 Schools is a non-profit in Dane County, WI that gets kids active through swimming, biking and running events that benefit school wellness initiatives! Each year several Franklin & Randall kids participate in these locally organized triathlon events, but I would love to see the number of participants increase. As a THREE time IronMan Wisconsin finisher, I completely understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and as a PE teacher I strive to help kids understand those same aspects too.
I am promoting Tri 4 Schools because kids love it, AND... they return 75% of the entry fee back to the PE department of the participants school. Everybody wins!
Doing exercise is proven to help kids do better in school, sleep better, live healthier, lose weight, have stronger bones and muscles, decreases symptoms of depression and anxiety and increases self esteem. How cool is that!
Please check out the Tri 4 schools web page for their calendar of events. I will be out there volunteering - I hope to see some or our kids participating.
Chris, Franklin PE Teacher
