January 15, 2021
Before winter break, Mr. Harrod, Randall's music teacher, asked each of his students to record themselves singing the song, "Give Light."

According to Mr. Harrod, "The lyrics of the song were inspired by the words of the late, great civil rights leader Ella Baker (https://ellabakercenter.org/who-was-ella-baker/). She famously said, 'give light and people will find the way.' Ella Baker helped inspire generations of Americans to get involved in the civil rights movement."

Since students can't sing together in person right now, Mr. Harrod took each student's separate audio track and layered them into one beautiful, virtual choir.

As Mr. Harrod says, "At a time when there seems to be so much darkness out there, remember how important it is to Give Light."
