Lunch/Recess Volunteers at Franklin
|
|
URGENT: Franklin still needs 6-8 parent helpers at recess or lunch
Do you have an hour around lunchtime when you could help Franklin kids twice a month? (Or once a week, if you prefer.)
Every year, a crew of about 50 parent volunteers helps on the Franklin playground and in the lunchroom. It’s a fun way to connect with your child during their school day, as well as get to know their friends and classmates.
It also provides super-important help to the Franklin staff!
School is now in full swing, but our volunteer schedule still needs 6-8 more parent helpers. Shifts are either weekly or biweekly, and on the playground run 10:50-11:50, while the lunchroom shift runs 11:05-12:15.
If you can join our happy crew of Franklin helpers, please complete the very short form at this
link
, or email
sabrina.karl@gmail.com
. Thank you!

MMSD has a new Attendance Webpage for Parents! Just go on your
school's website and look under "For Families" or "Contact Us" to find the new on-line Attendance page.
This page allows parents to report their children's absences on-line. As before, a phone call to the Safe Arrival/Attendance Line (Franklin 608-204-2294; Randall 608-204-3306) remains a way to report a missed day as well. This new page, also, has an electronic version of the Pre-Approved Absence Form that is required to excuse students when they have to miss school for vacations, special events, etc. Again, as before, you will still be able to obtain a paper copy from your school's office.
The
Attendance Webpage for Parents has lots of information about MMSD Attendance/Truancy policies and procedures. In addition, there are several links to even more, helpful information for parents; for example: the Department of Education' s "Absences Add Up" and the national organization "Attendance Works" websites.
As a parent, you can prepare your child for a lifetime of success by making regular school attendance a priority!

Tri 4 Schools Family Mud Run
|
|
 |
|
Tri4Schools... this Saturday, September 23rd is hosting a
Family Mud Run at Festival Park in Verona. This is a GREAT opportunity for Franklin - Randall kids to try a fantastic fun event and... Tri4Schools kicks back almost all of your entry fee's to your child's PE program. That's us in the gym!
"At Tri4Schools, we believe in encouraging ALL kids to be healthy and active, while supporting schools to do the same. Every dollar of our entry fees funds health and wellness programs in our local schools!"
Obstacles will be safe for children of all ages (no barbed wire, fire, or electric shocks here!). We will also rotate in new obstacles along with some of your favorites for each race. Parents, talk with your children about which obstacles they feel comfortable going through – they can always go around an obstacle and take the “clean track” if they don’t want to get wet/muddy.
Don't sit... get fit!
