Let's Work Together to
Create Anti-Racist Schools
|
|
The Franklin-Randall PTO's Community Engagement Committee is working with Urban Triage and Brandi Grayson to develop a series of workshops. In these trainings, we’ll examine how chronic racial trauma is created and the impact it has on our culture and society. Participants will gain skills to support anti-racist education. The schedule will be determined based on the availability of those who register.
Brandi Grayson is the Founder and CEO of Urban Triage and CEO of Grayson Consulting, LLC. She’s a Community Activist, orator, writer, and talk show host on Talk 92.7 FM.
The commitment would be three two-hour trainings, most likely beginning sometime in February. Cost will be determined based on number of participants, so if you are interested in participating (and haven’t already let us know), please email:

Seeking Gift Cards for Families in Need
|
|
Please consider purchasing gift cards for Franklin/Randall families in need over the holiday season. $25 gift cards for groceries, gas or stores like Target would be much appreciated. Please contact either school's social worker to learn how to deliver the gift cards.
Thank you!

Support #ProjectWeFi:
1 Mask = 1 Month of Internet for a Family
|
|
Lack of access to Internet has caused major disruptions in students’ education during virtual learning. Through a connection made by the Foundation for Madison Public Schools, we've joined local group, Sayog and their new initiative: #ProjectWeFi. Their aim is to provide every family in Dane County with Internet. The Collaborative’s goal is to provide consistent, stable Internet access in the home of every student in the West High attendance area. Together, we are fundraising through the sale of beautiful tie-dyed, cloth masks. You can keep yourself safe and increase access, all with one purchase!
To date, Sayog and the Collaborative have raised over $2,000 in masks sales, but we have a long way to go to ensure Internet access for all of our families for the remainder of the school year.
Just text (608-320-6929) or email (anpaliwal@hotmail.com) Alexa to purchase your masks. Alexa will coordinate payment and contactless delivery to your door. Costs for masks: 1 for $10, 2 for $15, 3 for $20, 4+ for $6 each. (Masks are all sized for adults)
Don’t need a mask? Feel free to make an outright monetary donation in support of #ProjectWeFi. You can Venmo Alexa (@Alexa-Wautier) or send cash/check (made payable to the Midvale Lincoln PTO) to Alexa Wautier at 822 Miami Pass, Madison, WI 53711. Just make sure to mention ProjectWeFi in your donation!
Thank you!
