May Equity and Inclusion Meeting: Randall Student Videos Address Inequality
Randall students have been working hard to create stop-motion animation videos -- over 1,000 of them total! Each video addresses inequalities including racism, transphobia, homophobia, and ableism within six topics of interest of Randall students: family, voting, Covid-19, climate change, sports, and entertainment. Two videos will be featured each week in this newsletter. Click the images below to view this week's videos.
Stop Motion Animation: COVID-19
Stop Motion Animation: Sports
We encourage all Franklin/Randall families to...

  1. Watch the videos with your children (Randall students have been completing reflection activities as they are watched in art class)
  2. Join our virtual discussion on May 18 at 6:30 with the whole family! Click here to join the meeting via Zoom.
A Message from the Latino PEG
A wise person said... 'the true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members'.

March 13, 2020 will go down as a historical date for all of us! It marked the beginning of an unimaginable period!

In a matter of hours, school staff mobilized to organize and deliver school materials, food and other essentials to our most needy families!

In a matter of days, parents who had never before utilized technology were assisted and learned how to connect with their children's school!

In a matter of weeks, most of our Latino families were receiving food deliveries from the West High Area Collaborative!

Month after month, families in need were supported with school materials, food, utilities & rent assistance, winter gear, Christmas gifts, and more!

It was a challenging year for all of us, a year of many losses! And unquestionably, the one thing that was never lost, was the sense of fellowship! As we begin to ease back into the normal, one thing is evident... this community never left its most needy families behind! They were lifted along the way with much care and the utmost respect.

Thank you Franklin/Randall staff, PTO representatives, and community members in general!

In the name of the Latino PEG we say, MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS!
