Vision and Hearing Screenings
All kindergartners and 4Kers at Franklin will receive routine vision screening on Thursday, October 31st; they will receive routine hearing screening on Wednesday, October 23 rd  OR Wednesday, November 13th.
All 3 rd  & 5 th  graders at Randall will receive a routine vision screening at school on Thursday, October 31st.
If you have a child not in those grades, but you would like their vision and/or hearing checked, please let the Health Office know (204-2301 at Franklin or 204-3304 at Randall).
Nurse Amber and volunteers from the UW Madison and Whitewater will conduct the screenings. If any child does not pass, he/she will be retested in a few weeks (to make sure the results were valid) - if that child still does not pass, then Nurse Amber will send home a letter with the results and recommendations. So, if you do not hear from the Health Office by the end of December, that means your 4Ker, Kindergartner, 3 rd  or 5 th  grader passed their screening(s).
If you have any questions, please call Nurse Amber at 204-2301 (Franklin) or 204-3304 (Randall).
Bus Drop-off Procedures
What is the drop-off procedure for students on yellow bus service in five-year-old kindergarten through eighth grade?
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade are dropped-off at their assigned bus stop. Estimated drop-off times are provided. It is important that parents understand that these times are only estimates. A variety of conditions including weather and traffic may impact a bus’s arrival time. If a bus arrives at a stop before the posted drop-off time, the driver will allow students to get off the bus. The bus will remain at the stop until the posted drop-off time.

Bus drivers do not verify that a parent or other adult is at the stop waiting for a student. Students will be dropped-off regardless of whether an adult is present. Parents who choose to regularly meet their children at the bus stop should have a safety plan in place for times when the parent is unable to be at the bus stop at the drop-off time. It is important that the student understand the safety plan.
