From Nurse Lovell:

Lice: What we do at school
Teachers try to encourage children not to share hats, combs, etc and to have children avoid head-to-head contact. If a teacher suspects a student has lice (itching head lots, nits seen in hair—about the size & shape of a sesame seed that don’t just brush off), the teacher sends the student to the Health Office for a check.

If you find lice on your child at home, please let the health office know so that close school playmates and locker partners can be checked. If we in the Health Office find lice (or nits/eggs) OR hear from a parent/guardian that a student was treated at home, we follow the school district guidelines »

The Randall LMC will host a Bookshare later this winter and at that time, all Randall students will be able to choose books for free! We are collecting gently used children's books between now and February. Please drop them off in the Randall library.

We ask that the books be ones that appeal to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and that don't show lots of wear and tear.

Thank you so much for supporting literacy (and recycling) at Randall!!

It is the time of year when Second Harvest, NBC, and Madison Schools team up to fill the Foodbank. In 2015, Franklin families did an amazing job with collecting 582 pounds of food and $370 which translates to 1,595 meals donated. Because of your efforts, Franklin was one of the top five schools in all of Dane County.

The food drive started  Wednesday, November 1st  and will run until Tuesday, November 28 th . In addition to food items, non-food items like bar soap, laundry detergent, liquid dish soap, shampoo, and toothpaste can also be donated. We have an amazing and giving community; we cannot wait to see it in action. If you want to donate to the virtual food drive, our team name is Franklin Elementary School (in MMSD) Here is direct link to our page.
