We hope spring has brought a smile to your faces with warmer temperatures and sunshine! May is a busy month as we wrap up the school year with memorable activities. We'll look forward to these annual rituals. Please mark your calendars for these events:

I have appreciated serving in as the principal at Glacial Drumlin for the past 10 years and wish staff, students and parents the very best. Congratulations to Kris Langer in her new assignment as GDS principal for the 2018-19 school year.

Practice Kindness |
Our PBIS kindness campaign this quarter has challenged students to practice kindness in various ways by writing notes, doing service work, painting and sharing kindness rocks, and giving verbal appreciations. Thanks to students and staff for spreading sunshine through kindness!

8th Grade Families Mark Your Calendars |
Passage Portfolios
No school for 8th grade students Friday, June 1 and Monday, June 4. Students and guests should report only at their scheduled portfolio time to present their portfolio.
Recognition
Tuesday, June 5 promptly at 6 pm at GDS. Dance to follow. Ending at 9:30 pm.

Will give students the opportunity to get to know their classmates in a new manner, explore the physical layout of the high school, get to know upperclassmen, meet teachers and other important adults in the building, and have lots of fun! Go to the MGHS webpage or click here to register

All picture days/times are listed on this printable form. This page replaces our letter sent during the summer.
Students - keep your ID for next year. Any questions or other assistance call Capital School Pictures at 839-1700 before picture day.

PTO News |
New Playground Equipment Coming
Thanks to everyone's help with fundraising this year, the PTO in partnership with the Student Council is purchasing new climbing equipment that will be installed over the summer. The climbing structure was selected by Student Council so has the students' stamp of approval - it should be a fun addition to the playground.
Final PTO Meeting of the 2017-18 school year
Final meeting of the 2017-18 school year is
May 3. The start time has been moved to
5:30 as there is a high school band concert that same night. We will be electing a new board member that evening - we have one person interested in the open position but please let us know if you would like to run as well.

Students will be able to enjoy an evening of fun and excitement at our 10th annual Glacial Drumlin School Lock-In. There will be games and activities for all students who will be attending GDS in the fall of 2018 to enjoy.

Medication Pick Up |
It you have your child's medication in the school health room keep reading...
Monona Grove School District Board Policy does not allow any medications to be sent home with students. Parents and guardians may stop in the school office to pick up their child's medication (office hours 7:30 am - 4:00 pm).
Medications must be picked up from the Glacial Drumlin office by Tuesday, June 12. Any medications not picked up will be disposed.

Scholastic BOGO Free Book Fair |
Our Scholastic Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into their school. Not only will your child be able to choose from a wonderful selection of titles before the summer vacation starts, they will be able to get one free book for every book they buy!
Please Join us at our Book Fair and be a part of your child's reading journey.
Book Fair Dates: May 8-15
Shopping Hours: Daily during MGS and 3:20 - 3:45 pm
Special Activities: May 15th from 6:15-7 pm (During 6th grade Band/Orchestra Concert)
