After Hours Lectures Are Available Online
 
After Hours Lectures at VIMS are recorded and made available to view online any time. The 2019 lecture series includes topics such as Forecasting Tidal Flooding , Research Around the World, and Tracking the Sea Turtle's Lost Years . Visit the lecture series page on the VIMS website for these and more.
The 2020 After Hours Lecture series will begin Thursday, January 30, at 7:00 p.m. More information will be available soon!

Adult Literacy Christmas Stocking Boutique held at the Wild Horse Cafe and Malt Shoppe in the White Marsh Shopping Center. Bring a stocking through December 20 for bidding. The highest bidder buys the stocking. A blue ribbon will be awarded the highest bidder of all stockings and the maker of the stocking will also receive a blue ribbon for helping Adult Literacy in this fundraising event.

BEST YEARS TRIP TO GREASE
Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a trip to see GREASE at the Riverside Dinner Theater, Fredericksburg on Wednesday, February 5 from 9:30am-6:30pm. The Rydell High Senior Class of 1959 come alive in this rollicking musical. Definitely a classic! The fee is #99 and the deadline to register is December 27 .
 
BEST YEARS TRIP TO VIRGINIA FLOWER AND GARDEN EXPO
Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a trip to the Virginia Flower and Garden Expo at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on Friday, January 24 from 1:30-5:30 pm. The fee is $31 and the deadline to register is January 12 .
 
GENTLE YOGA
Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring Gentle Yoga, on Thursdays, from 5:30-6:45 pm at Botetourt. The next 6-week session begins January 2 and the fee is $30 per session. The deadline to register is December 26 .
 
YOUTH BASKETBALL AGES 12-18
Parks, Recreation and Tourism sponsors basketball leagues for ages 12-14 and 15-18. Each league has boys and girls divisions, depending on the numbers registered, the divisions may be combined. The registration fee is $42 until December 22 , then the price goes up to $47 until the January 5 deadline.
