Interested in learning more about archaeology, preservation, or education? Come join us for volunteer lab night, Tuesday evenings at the CAPE (Center for Archaeology, Preservation and Education)! Volunteers can participate in a variety of activities including washing, sorting, and identifying artifacts, labeling and mending artifacts, or helping with other small projects. All are welcome!

Parks Recreation and Tourism Offerings
PERFORMING ARTS CAMP AGE UPDATE
Parks, Recreation and Tourism’s morning Disney themed Performing Arts Camp ages have been changed from 8-11 to 7 to 11 years. The camp begins at 9:00 am and ends at Noon. Under the direction of Karen Scalf, this camp meets June 17-20 at the T. C. Walker Educational Center. The camp fee is $59 per child and the deadline to register is June 12.
VOLLEYBALL CAMP
Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring Volleyball Camp at Botetourt for boys and girls entering 4
th
thru 8
th
grade. Lead by GHS Varsity Coach, Sean McNash. Kenn pads and headbands ok. 5:30-7:30 on Tuesdays June 11 and 18, July 2 and 9. The fee is $59 and the deadline to register is June 10.
FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION
Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a Food Safety Certification course ideal for those in the restaurant industry. Course covers contamination, food borne illnesses, food storage, food preparation, employee training, sanitation and more. Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-5 pm at the PRT Office on July 16, 18, 23, 25, The fee is $175 for the full course or $85 for test only. The deadline to register is July 1.
