Sales Tax Holiday in Virginia This Weekend
Virginia's 3-day sales tax holiday starts today and ends Sunday.

During the sales tax holiday, you can buy qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ products without paying sales tax.

Gloucester County Library System Begins Offering Limited Access and Extended Hours

On Wednesday, August 5, the Gloucester County Public Library entered its next phase of reopening by beginning to offer “Grab-n-Go” service at the Main Library. The new “Grab-n-Go” service is a 30-minute appointment that offers patrons the opportunity to enter the Library and browse the collection in-person and select materials for checkout. 

Gloucester County Continues to Assist Residents with COVID-Related Needs and Expenses
Emergency Management Encourages Damages from Isaias be Reported

Gloucester County Emergency Management officials declared a Local Emergency at noon on Monday in the wake of Tropical Storm Isaias. Currently, Emergency Management officials are in the process of surveying damages from the storm to local residents, businesses and agricultural properties. 

Residents, business owners and those with interests in agricultural properties are encouraged to report damages to Emergency Management by calling Gloucester’s Hurricane Information Helpline at 804-693-3000. Residents are asked to NOT call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office unless it is an emergency. 

Attention Gloucester Businesses

Gloucester County is assessing the economic impacts to local businesses due to the the threat of COVID-19, in an effort to report them accurately to state and federal partners. Additional assistance may be available if the County reaches certain thresholds in overall impact. We ask all local business partners to report any economic impacts to Gloucester’s Business Recovery Coordinator, Sherry Spring, on a weekly basis so that we may better assist you. Please email reports every Friday by noon each week with any losses you incur.
