Re-open to the Public

In alignment with the Governor’s guidance on Phase 3 re-openings across the Commonwealth, Gloucester County government began its next phase of reopening to the public on Monday.

With the latest phase of reopening, one customer per department will now be allowed into the offices on the second and third floors of Building #2 for in-person service, including Planning and Zoning, Environmental, Building Inspections, Finance, Central Purchasing, Economic Development, Human Resources and Administration. However, customers are still encouraged to utilize the mobile unit for drop-off and pickup service of applications and permits. 

Back to Business Middle Peninsula program launched
The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors allocated $512,000 in funds provided under the federal government’s CARES Act to help our local businesses impacted by COVID-19. The assistance will be in the form of a grant through the Middle Peninsula Planning District. This grant program is designed to reimburse the increased costs of changed business practices in response to the pandemic but not cover the normal cost of operating the business.

Parents Encouraged to fill out Re-opening Survey

Gloucester County Public School's Part II: Fall 2020 Planning Survey is now available at  https://gets.gc.k12.va.us/ . Please complete this survey once for EACH GCPS student in your household to help the school system plan for all of its school communities. Survey closes July 13th, 4:30 p.m.

Attention Gloucester Businesses

Gloucester County is assessing the economic impacts to local businesses due to the the threat of COVID-19, in an effort to report them accurately to state and federal partners. Additional assistance may be available if the County reaches certain thresholds in overall impact. We ask all local business partners to report any economic impacts to Gloucester’s Business Recovery Coordinator, Sherry Spring, on a weekly basis so that we may better assist you. Please email reports every Friday by noon each week with any losses you incur.
