Bethel Elementary celebrates the holiday season with a “Holidays Around the World” activity for first grade students on December 19. Would you have a holiday tradition from another culture that you could share?
Are you or your family from another country? Have you traveled to another country and are familiar with its traditions? If you’d like to share your experiences but the thought of coming up with a simple activity daunts you, we can help.
Thanks for considering this request and let me know if you’d like to be part of this fun activity. Call Valerie at 693-0654 for more information.
A Message from the Commissioner of Revenue’s Office

As tax preparation time approaches we would like to take a moment of your time to make you aware of a few areas of concern when you file your upcoming taxes.

  • If you are paid on a 1099 instead of a W-2, which causes you to file a Schedule C - please contact our office to see if you are required to have a business license.

  • If you claim mileage on Forms 4562 or 2106 as business use – please contact our office as this exemption may result in a loss of Personal Property Tax Relief on your Personal Property bill for your vehicles.

The Department of Taxation does not send the processed returns to us until years later and then depending on how/when you filed your return we could possibly be auditing this information from earlier years.

If at any time you have questions regarding county requirements or questions regarding the Personal Property Tax Relief requirements please contact our office at 804-693-3451 or visit the website at www.gloucesterva.info/cor.
