The Newsletter of
December 2017

Greetings !

As 2017 winds down, we look back with enormous gratitude for you, our loyal supporters, who allow us to carry out our special mission and ministry, providing "hope for life" for homeless, pregnant mothers and their babies.

Together, we celebrated the births of 10 babies, chosen in love, living in safety, thriving in an environment of dignity and stability. We formed a collaboration with a national maternity home network, Good Counsel, enabling us to provide even more services to moms in need. We had fun together at our Spring Gala, rocked to our favorite 60s hits at The Midtown Men concert, cheered on our golfers at our Golf Marathon and Mini-thon,
broke bread together with our moms and babies before celebrating monthly Mass in our beautiful chapel, made sandwiches together, and celebrated countless other moments of pure love and God's grace.
As we look back on all these events and all that we have done, we are continuously reminded that none of this is possible without you. Your time, talent, and treasure are what give our moms hope, safety, and a chance for a bright future for herself and her baby.

With deep gratitude, we thank you for all you do, and wish you and your loved ones a healthy and Happy New Year.

-- The Staff, Board of Directors, and mothers of Good Counsel Malta House

This year, we welcomed with love babies Ameerah, Ayana, David, Draeden, Jordan, Kiliana, Leila, Malik, Nakoze and Willow. Here are two of our cuties!
What a successful concert Malta House hosted on September 30th at The Palace Theater in Stamford! THE MIDTOWN MEN sang all our favorite "Sixties hits" from The Beatles, The Rascals, The Turtles, Motown, The Four Seasons and more. Thanks a million to co-chairs Sharon Feighery and Joanne Salvatore for all their hard work!
The Malta House 2017 O’Rourke Invitational Golf Marathon took place from sun-up to sundown on October 2nd at the Innis Arden Golf Club in Greenwich, CT! Founder and Board Member, Michael O'Rourke, golfed a remarkable 115 holes! Because non-golfers wanted to play their part as well, Team Windmill played 36 holes of miniature golf at the Norwalk Cove Marina. It was a great day, and all for such a great cause. Thank you to all who participated!

What would a Malta House Thanksgiving celebration be without the overwhelming generosity of Scott and Suzanne Diddel! The “Baskets from Heaven” were such a blessing!! We give prayerful thanks to them always!
Our residents had a great visit from members of the Order of Malta on November 21st! Malta House moms and volunteers from the Order gathered together and prepared 150 sandwiches for The Open Door Shelter in Norwalk, CT. Our moms were so excited for the opportunity to do something for others, they expressed a desire to schedule this project on a regular basis – and of course with our Order of Malta friends!! 2018 will show a new picture of how Malta House moms plan to “pay it forward”!

Board Member Rudy Costello, along with his sales team from Beam Suntory, joined us for a great day of service, followed by dinner and an early Christmas celebration. In just a few hours, Rudy and his team gifted our moms with a complete living room “makeover” to include new furniture, a TV, and special gifts for each mom!! Bless them!

Santa arrived early at Good Counsel Malta House on Saturday, December 9th. Special thanks to all who provided such thoughtful gifts for our mothers and babies, and especially to Michelle Babyak for capturing all these first Christmases in such beautiful photographs.
Please help us help more mothers and babies by contributing any amount toward our year-end appeal
