Bondi Produce
The First Lady and I, along with representatives from the USDA Foreign Agriculture Service and the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Committee, met with Bondi Produce, one of the largest produce distributors in the greater Toronto area.  The company is an important customer of Idaho onions.  Idaho onions were in the warehouse and moving briskly to foodservice customers throughout the city!  I invited Bondi owner Gus Bondi to Idaho to see the production area firsthand and to see additional products from Idaho including apples, peaches, and potatoes.  The meeting helped strengthen the relationship with this valued customer and further enhance trade with a key produce company in Toronto.

Another stop on my trade mission to Canada was to Pusateri's. Wildwood Grilling, a company located in Sandpoint, Idaho, is a manufacturer and supplier of wood grilling products, like grilling planks, smoking chips, wraps and more. The Idaho company met with John Mastroianni of Pusateri's to discuss opportunities and collaboration concerning their high-end grocery stores. We traded ideas and strategies and learned a lot from our foreign partners that will help Wildwood Grilling innovate their business model and grow.

SNC Lavalin
Along with my traveling delegation, I attended a meeting with SNC Lavalin and Premier Technology to discuss collaboration efforts in the nuclear energy field. SNC Lavalin was founded in 1911 and is one of the leading engineering and construction groups in oil & gas, mining, infrastructure and clean energy. Premier Technology is located in Blackfoot, Idaho, with high-quality manufacturing capabilities in Commercial Nuclear, Food & Beverage, and Mining & Industrial. The two companies found immediate synergies and are exploring joint projects!

MaRS and PKG
The delegation also visited the impressive facility at MaRS Innovation. MaRS brings together educators, researchers, social scientists, entrepreneurs and business experts under one roof in Toronto, Canada. Startups and innovation are of great interest to PKG which specializes in the medical and aerospace field. PKG is located in Meridian, Idaho, and is a designer, developer, and manufacturer of advanced, innovative user interface solutions. I would like to thank MaRs for hosting us as we toured their state-of-the-art facility and giving us some great insight to bring back home.

Telcodium Inc.
Inergy Solar, a Pocatello based company, presented a Valued Partner Award to Telcodium during the Idaho Customer Appreciation Reception. Inergy Solar designs and manufactures battery powered electrical supply and backup systems for mobile, recreational and home applications. Telcodium was recognized by Inergery Solar for their contributions as a "Valued Partner and Friend" of their company. The First Lady and I could not have felt more welcome at the Idaho reception, and I would like to thank the Idaho Department of Agriculture and our Department of Commerce for building these relationships on behalf of Idaho.
