...to know Christ and to make him known
Acts 2:1-21
To our Grace Family!

We have some good news from Bishop Susan Brown-Snook, we are looking at the re-opening of our church doors on June 21st, which is also Father's Day.  I know that you and I are eager to start worshiping again in our sanctuary.  We will submit to the Bishop a plan for how to conduct our worship safely and within the guidelines that have been given.  A parish task force has already met and discussed these guidelines and given the architecture of our sanctuary.  We will be conducting our worship within all the parameters of the Bishop, the Governor of California and county guidelines.  In the meantime, continue to join us if you are able via Zoom or live-streaming, we are planning on continuing for a time these services for those of you not feeling comfortable venturing out to the church in June.
If you have any needs, please do not hesitate to contact  me  a t Fr.Frank.Munoz@outlook.com   or call at

Dear Grace,
I hope all is well with all of you in spite of all that is happening with Covid-19. Grace is scheduled to provide the meal for our CERRC Life Celebration lunch in June, and as you may have guessed, this isn't happening because of the pandemic. Thankfully, our CERRC clients are still receiving support from their counselors and participating in groups remotely, from the safety of their homes, via telephone and video conferencing. However, we have 15 clients who are sheltering in place together at our Uptown Safe Haven transitional housing program near the Cathedral, and one of the things they are most appreciating right now are donations of snacks and sweets.  The Uptown staff store up non-perishable snacks and put some out each night for the clients; this has become a nightly routine that gets the clients out of their rooms to watch a movie or interact in some other way.

I am writing to share this need and opportunity to brighten the day for our Uptown clients in case you are interested in making or buying treats for this group in lieu of providing the lunch for CERRC next month.

The following are some easy ways to donate snacks and treats...for your consideration:
1) Order items from this Amazon registry/wish list, and they will be delivered directly to Uptown: Uptown Wish List Suggestions. These are suggestions to give you ideas and make it easy to order and donate items from home. Other similar items would be welcome!
2) Buy items from Costco, Smart and Final, etc., and drop them off at Grace on June 16th for pick up.
3) Bake sweets - cookies, brownies, etc. - and drop them off at  Grace on June 16th for pick up.
4) Or some combination of the options above!

In case you don't know a lot about Uptown, here's a short description of our Uptown transitional housing program for homeless adults with mental health disorders: Uptown Safe Haven

Thank you for your consideration of this request.  We  appreciate your on-going partnership and support!  If you have any questions please call the church office 760-744-7667 or email Janet Marseilles at janetlmarseilles@gmail.com

Donna Huss Food Drive for North County Food Bank

Hi Everyone,

I love food and almost everything associated with it like cooking, eating, grocery shopping, watching cooking shows and reading cookbooks. I have been fortunate that I have never known true hunger nor been food insecure. That is not the case for many people.

Some of you may not know that for the last couple of months, I've been volunteering at the San Diego Food Bank - North County location. In just a few months the change there has been tremendous. The North County location provides food for non-profit organizations and families. Prior to the pandemic, this location would service about 30 families a day plus the non-profits. Now they are averaging 250-300 families a day and the non-profits!

The need is great, which is why I am hosting a Virtual Food Drive for the entire month of May. Due to the how the Food Bank procures food, every dollar can provide 5 meals. The Virtual Drive is very easy and slightly fun. Just click on the link and you'll see a virtual store where you can "shop". Just drag the item(s) across the scanner and checkout with a credit card. You'll receive an email receipt for charity tax deduction purposes. Pretty easy!

This is not meant to pressure anyone - I know times are difficult and uncertain for many. If you want to join me with a few dollars, please do, if not that's okay also.

Thank you for considering it!
