Scholarships
  
The Greater Grand Rapids USBC Scholarships, The Tony Lomonaco and The Nancy Weatherbee 2013 Scholarship applications are on our website in fillable forms. These have also been mailed to the class of 2013 bowlers. 
  
The Greater Grand Rapids Scholarships involve one $1,500 scholarship for both a male and female bowler and up to three $500 scholarships for other youth bowlers. The Tony Lomonaco Scholarship is worth $2,000 and The Nancy Weatherbee Scholarship is worth $500. 
  
Be sure to ask your bowlers if they have received their packet and if they haven't, please take a moment to look on-line at
www.grgrusbc.org under  Scholarships.  
  
Please encourage your bowlers to apply. They don't have to be the best bowler; they just have to have the initiative to try.  
  
  Spring Youth Travel League
  
Starts 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013 @ Fairlanes
  
* Each week will be at a different GR  area Bowling Center.
 
Cost is $5 per person per week + 1 time certification fee if not already done. 
 
Bowling will be based on the high school format:  2 baker games followed by 2 team games.
 
Youth Travel League Rules:
  *  5 member teams
  *  All scores are scratch
  *  Prebowl scores will not be accepted
  *  Any absent bowlers without a sub will receive 0 (zero)  in each frame missed (baker & team games)
  *  Teams on odd (left) lanes will be considered the Away Team, teams on even lanes will be the Home Team
  
Dress Code:
  *  USBC Youth Bowling shirt or collared shirt required
  *  No "holey" jeans, gym shorts, yoga pants, or jogging pants
  *  No head gear or head phones

We hope 2013 is off to a great start for you.  I know lot's of people make resolutions at the beginning of each year.  Our resolution is to make each and every tournament we have a great experience for both the old and new bowlers.  
  
As mentioned below, we are  entering into the 2nd weekend of our City Mixed Doubles Tournament.  We hope you can find time to join us at Park Center Lanes.
  
Soon we will be promoting our City Tournament.  Lots of new stuff happening this year, more money and more divisions.  Watch for more information coming your way as we get closer to that date.  In the mean time good luck & good scores.

colorfulpinsThis is the last weekend to join us for the Mixed Doubles Tourn-ament being held at Park Center, 2222 - 28th St. SW.  Squad times are 12:30 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.  Don't have a partner, let us know.  I'm sure we can round up someone else to join you.  This is a great event, don't miss out.  Any questions call the bowling office at 616-530-8195.
